A senior citizen landed up in hospital with serious injuries after a motorcyclist hit him at Kandivali East on Tuesday morning. The motorcyclist, too, fell due to the impact, but got back on his two-wheeler and fled without helping the victim.

MUMBAI: A senior citizen landed up in hospital with serious injuries after a motorcyclist hit him at Kandivali East on Tuesday morning. The motorcyclist, too, fell due to the impact, but got back on his two-wheeler and fled without helping the victim.
O K Venugopal Nambiar, 61, lives at Lokhandwala complex in Kandivali and was out for a walk at 6.45 am when the accident occurred.

He is the uncle of filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar.
"My father had got out of the gate when a biker crashed into him. He suffered multiple fractures in his right leg and will have to undergo a surgery," his son said.
Witnesses said the biker was a middle-aged man who was riding without a helmet.
The victim's son tweeted to the Mumbai police who suggested he approach the Samta Nagar police station. His statement has been recorded by the police.
Residents said instances of rash driving on Akurli Road have increased.
